The seeing looked okay for a short while (too many clouds in the way for the most part), so I decided to see what I could capture. I was able to get a full disc, proms, and a couple of more before clouds started really ruining things. I know the colors don't always translate properly from Adobe Lightroom to Apple devices, so this may look a bit off and colors too strong.

Coronado 60 single stack for full disc and proms

Double stacked for up close surface image

ZWO 178MM camera

Great Polaris DX mount

Processed in Autostakkert, Registax, Adobe Lightroom, and Gimp. Downsized and converted to jpg for posting.

Images will look better when you open them up. The preview images are compressed.

They could be better, could be worse. Thanks for looking!

For a SS that FD looks great.  Why not DS FD?

Thanks! If I try and do a full disc in DS mode it gets a bit "zoney" and looks uneven. Single stack seems to work better for me in those cases. I also use two tilt mechanisms attached to one etalon for more control of the incoming light angle. That also helps quite a lot.

Thank you! I wasn't expecting much, so I was glad to get anything at all. There might be a window of opportunity in a couple of hours to do some night time imaging. There's a lot of clouds out there right now so I don't know.....

Very nice captures for the conditions like-button.jpgwaytogo.gif
My expectations are always high and when the seeing is terrible I'm disappointed, but I try to just enjoy the time watching the different features and capture something to share.  I try to remind myself of the shear  wonder of everything going on the surface and how this has all brought life to this planet.

Keep up the good work and enjoy the ride!

Thanks again, I do appreciate it! If the clouds would've stayed out of the way things would've gone smoother. The seeing actually looked pretty good when there wasn't a cloud whisking by! The full disc came out ok. I had higher hopes for the prom though. It wasn't super big but it had nice structure.

I think the prom image is mirror-reversed. Not sure how I did that.
