This was taken May 20th at the Picket Post Trail Head east of Phoenix, AZ.  The image consists of 90 each 90 second subs and includes BIAS and Darks.  No Flats. The image field of the imaging scope is flat and usually doesn’t require Flats.  No filters were used. The image was processed with PixInsight.  In the stacked linear image I lost count of the small galaxies.  Most were very small.

The equipment / software included:

- Losmandy GM811G

- Stellarvue SV90mm CFT w/2.5” focuser and Meade 3" field flattener

- ZWO ASI2600MC Pro (Gain 0, Offset 50, TEC 0C)

- QHY 5L-II Auto-Guider

- 50mm f/4 Guide Scope

- N.I.N.A. Rel 1.10 Beta 06

- PHD Guide 2 Rel 2.6.8

There was very fine noise in the image that I couldn’t remove with PI.  I am not sure why.  Each time I tried the noise looked a little worst.  I may have to Dither more in future imaging.

Excellent image Jim! Turned out great! Stars are tight. And the processing is superb!

Jim,

Looks great!

Is 90s at Gain 0 enough to get above the read noise? I have done 3min subs at gain 100 and 4 minute subs at gain 0. I am still trying to find a good balance between filling up the well, not blowing out stars and reducing the number of large files.

Good point.  I don't know.  I could have pushed it to 120 seconds but I was worried about saturating some stars.  I will reshoot and try 120 and 180.
