Instein OnStep retrofit kit for G11 is good for astrophotography?

Hello all,

 

 

I have a digital drive non goto G11 I am interested to put a goto controller.

 

I have found the onStep project and a commercial implementation  named Instein that costs a fraction of the orginal gemini goto. 

 

Does anyone have installed the G11 Instein kit and is having good astrophotography performance during guiding ?

This should have been posted in the mounts forum, but it looks like an interesting kit. On the old Yahoo Onstep forum there were many reports of successful Onstep conversions:
