I very much doubt it's a clone. Rather, I'm certain its an N-S product.

I agree, and that's what I meant -- an N-S / Unitron 114 but branded Soligor.  I edited my description accordingly.

Next time just ask me JW  if you are not sure.smirk.gif

Thanks Johann, but I knew what I meant -- we already had several of these Soligor-branded 114s in the Registry before this one...

At a cheap price, I'd buy it, test it, & pass it on.  I'd be interested to see how its DPAC compares with the 1950s 142 that I had, and with my 1958 Goto 60mm -- I suspect the Soligor lens is a bit older.

But, I don't think it's gonna go cheap...

The Seller also seems confused:  "Serious bidders: Contact me well  prior to bidding. Please do not wait for last minute to ask about shipping estimate.  I will ship in wooden case seen."

But... The ad is for LPO (Local Pickup Only).

200mm? Seriously large mount. Must pick up in rural Japan.

https://page.auction...tion/c819565098

They used some over size mounts back in the day. Some of the best looking Newts ever. I would have killed to get some of them early 1960's built Newts that were built like brutes and weighed a ton.

If the translation is even close the observatory and home may also be for sale.
I'd consider moving. Naw nevermind, I'm already in Texas.

The soligar sold for 110.

Congratulations to the winner.

I watched the bid time out on the Soligar & was surprised that there was only 1 bidder & they got it for the $110 reserve price. Great scope , bargain price.

Edmund 6" with eq mount and tripod:  https://denver.craig...7133795721.html

Hubble Golf balls anyone? https://cosprings.cr...7131912019.html

Any Astroscan equipment sellers to help this guy out?

https://boulder.crai...7117557022.html

I’d be cautious on the golf balls since Hubble didn’t have a lens.  It’s a Ritchey-Chreiten Cassegrain.

I also won and picked up the 1984 Crescent 80mm Towa 339 clone on eBay today.  In brand new condition with all accessories.

Those would never survive my 7 iron anyway.

A fellow CSN (Classic Scope Nut) got it.  I was tempted, but the Seller had me corn-fuzed -- I think he meant:  I want to sell it locally, but if you twist my arm, I'll ship it.  But, who knows?

Think I'm over the limit on posting for the hour but I'm happy it's in the family. Sorry Charlie

I was going to bid on the Soligor but I imagine shipping would be gnarly if they aren't even willing to advertise it.

Tak FS102 only $1800.  Cannot tell from the picture if this is the shorter model which is bino friendly.

It is in the Springs, about 60 mi. south  of Denver.  At about $13 to start, it is not worth the 2 hr drive and 120 miles unless it really hits someone's nitch.  This could be a nice scope for a North Springs local.

Here's a suggestion to all the CN vendors, and others who wish to sell

their wares on CN.   You just never know.  (Good way to advertise a "model D transportable" for that grab-n-go option)

I didn't upload the whole listing, just the particulars.
