.. at a reasonable price. I know the powermate would be a sure shot but it's too expensive and I plan to use this Barlow just for the Mars opposition then I'll have to wait for another couple of years before having planets like Jupiter and Saturn at a decent altitude here in the northern hemisphere. The telescope I'll use it's a C11 and the camera an ASI290MM

Of all the Barlow I've seen online these are the ones I consider reasonably priced:

TS Optics TSShorty 2x Apo Barlow, 1.25 inch, 3-element: https://www.teleskop...nd-astroph.html

APM 2" Barlow Lens 1.5x/2x w. Adapter 2"/1.25": https://www.teleskop...r-2--1-25-.html

Celestron 2x Barlow X-Cel : https://www.teleskop...-3-element.html

Explore Scientific 2x Focal Extender 1.25 inch: https://www.astrosho...ab_bar_1_select

You may need to translate the first 3 links to English, there's the flag icon on the top right.

Any good experience with one these barlows? Also any other candidate to add to the list would be more than welcome.

Thanks and Clear Skies,

Andrea

I have the 'Omegon' version. It is very good, I haven't seen any false colour with it.

That should be the same build of the one branded TS I linked, thanks for sharing your opinion! :)

This Vixen 2x is very good, I also have both X-Cel Barlows which are very good shorties.

GSO 2" is well priced and optically good.

Don't forget the little Baader Q-Turret, which is excellent.

The 2.5x Luminos has also impressed me and is often used with my Baader zoom.

The Celestron Ultima 2x is my tool of choice. It often comes up used for about 50usd and it is an excellent apochromatic barlow. The Q barlow from Baader is also a fantastic modular option. Can't go wrong with either.

The Q-Baader looks interesting indeed and I'm a Baader fan.
