Hello guys...

Despite the high temperature in my flat under the roof top of Paris i'v been able to capture the fantastic huge prom of today with the spectroscope with an other kind of wide slit wich is slightly curved and made of métal white enough to reflect the heat and this time the images werent dancing like they usually do!! So yes it seems that the color of the entrance slit is important in order to minimize instrumental turbulence...

Here are a few pics..

Gorgeous results with your spectroscope! I'm watching this area decay this morning and jelous of what you captured! I guess I missed the action! Although I did get to see a section "rain" a little...

Thank you very much :)

The "new" entrance slit seems to work a lot better to prevent overheating so the turbulence in much reduced.

I 'm working on a proper ajustable curved slit with an aluminium radiator to evacuate the heat even more... and also have a better view of the sun's limb....

to be continued..

Chris

Dont be too jealous of the Paris flat : its an oven with no circulating air and no real window , nor balcony. ;)
