Andrea, how about you gave me your Ha data of a target you choose using your GSO 6" and i will add it to my OIII data? This way we will see how good or bad it can be, or donate your Ha for me and i will donate mine of OIII, what do you think?

I follow your Telescopius posts, very nice, i wasted last 2 years with not ideal filters even for Ha although i already have Astrodon Ha 5nm since 2017, but i use QHY camera which is requiring 36mm filter size so i coudn't have high quality better filters for that, and that is why i ordered ASI1600mm to get back to 1.25" filters as i already added 3nm [OIII/SII] so far.

I will have to store my data online soon or later, when it comes to it I'll be happy to share my raw data with you. Also if you know a way to transfer large files I can prepare a zip/rar for you and contact you back when it's ready. I don't have much in OIII thou done with the 6'' Newton, just three nebulae, the ones you saw on Telescopius.

Google Drive is one you can use to transfer large files, also you can use Dropbox, if both are limited too then you can compress to make them smaller, if not enough yet then you can try Mega.nz site to upload, i can download fast anyway.

By the way, you can look at Antlia filters, they have 3.5nm filters, i do have Astrodon/Chroma for 1.25" size and with the coming soon waited ASI1600mm, but for my QHY163M i may buy Antlia Ha only for 36mm size and keep OIII in 1.25" side, until you do it or me i can test my OIII for myself and you and we can try to share to save time, you have same scope of mine and i have same and similar cameras as well.

I'll put the Chroma on my list but that's a bit too expensive for me now, I've recently contracted the Apitis and I'm saving money for fairly large triplet to use during the next galaxy season smile.gif  If the Optolong doesn't give gradients or halo I would rather get that one.  And I agree that NB Baader arent' parfocal. For CLS you mean the Astronomik one? I am looking for an LP filter to replace my Lumicon Deep Sky that also gives some halo.

The price of the Chromas et al. is the reason why I only have one glass jewel in my 7x filter wheel. The others (Baaders) deliver a reasonable quality in their wavelenghts though I do mistrust the blue filter a bit. But from the diskussion with others concerning larger stars and blue "rings" I conclude that this is probably related to ordinary physical effects.

The "CLS" was a typo. I meant a clear filter (Baader UV/IR cut). Though I have an Astrodon CLS filter I have not used it yet and have no own experience with LP filters.

We have a very similar setup in terms of filters, I also do have the LRGB set from Baader and I'm happy with it and me too I distrust the blue a bit. I'm certain about a good parfocality between the UV/IR cut, Red and Green but when I switch to Blue it's always a sort of "wild card". My guess is that is very sensitive to the altitude of the subject, I did some Moon shots in IR-RGB and when the Moon is fairly high I get much sharper results in Blue compared to when the Moon is low. The difference in the other channels instead is not so evident.

Antlia 2" 3.5nm OIII result - 42x180sec subs using Atik 460EX, Starizona Filter tray, HyperStar on an EdgeHD 8".

Eastern Veil OIII

Astronomik 36mm 6nm Ha result using same optical train (29x180sec). Used a Starizona adapter (2"-36mm) for the smaller filter.

Eastern Veil Ha

Antlia's are not a cheap filter but pretty good results at a $200-300 savings per filter over Astrodon and Chroma. Next time I do this target I will stack a BUNCH more 30-60 second subs...star bloat too much for my liking.

Do also Antlia OIII and SII if you have those too, not only Ha, almost Ha isn't a big deal with most brands.

I use Chroma 3nm narrowband filters. Oiii is not only affected (ruined) by moonlight but it's also affected by humidity more than my Ha and Sii. Going longer (collecting more data) with Oiii when it's humid has worked for me with some objects.

I've never hear of these Antilia, they do look interesting. It's also interesting the fact that the whole narrowband set goes at 3.5nm

And i am really thinking to buy their Ha at least for my 36mm filter wheel to replace that 7nm Ha, so i can combine it with the other camera i am waiting and using 1.25" OIII/SII 3nm, i can't buy high quality filters at 36mm or larger.
