Anyone know if there is (or was) a wooden tripod made for GP/EQ-5 mounts that has rubber feet?  I'm looking for something that won't scratch the floor when it's in the house.  Needs to be relatively inexpensive (e.g. not Berlebach).

1. you can hunt around for a used Vixen tripod. They made a variety from short for Newtonians to 48", even 54" high (tripod height with telescoping legs.

Celestron used to sell the SP-C8, a C8 on a Super Polaris Mount on Vixen wood; more robust than typical.

2. Also used, Al's Astro, oak legs.

I just use my vibration reducers under the legs when my scope is set up in the house.  Actually, any type of furniture leg protector would work.  Heck, thick cardboard could do the job depending on the weight.

Here is my solution... this thing does all I need, handles the weight, 65 lbs for mount/ scope/imaging just fine. Revisit polar alignment every 6 weeks or so. Never got around to make a “pretty one”.....smile.gif

Home Depot furniture rubber feet added 4$ to the overall cost of about $80...
