Hi

I'm hoping someone can help me choose the right dew straps to suit the following gear:

WO RedCat 51

ZWO 30F4 Guidescope

My location means I have to mail order these and I need to get it right before ordering.
Would be great if  the manufacturers came up with an online utility where you just put in the equipment you have and it tells you the one to get.

So far I have measured the circumference of these
and worked out the following:

The ZWO 30F4 is 15cm (6") with a diameter of 44mm

dew strap options:

Kendrick 2006     7"        4watts 0.3A
Dew-Not DN02   6.5"      3watts 0.25A
AstroZap AZ701 5.5" (?)     3.1watts 0.25A

and the RedCat is 26cm (10.5") with a diameter of 80mm

dew strap options:

Kendrick 2007 11" 10w 0.8A
Dew-Not DN04 13" 6w 0.5A
AstroZap AZ703 12" 7.3w 0.61A

I'm hoping if anyone has these can you let me know which is the correct part number

and maybe some feedback on which one you have, eg: quality.

I'm building my own Arduino dew controller based on Robert Brown's project.
(I won't post links here, but you can find it on sourceforge )
so the dew straps will be controlled with a 12v PWM and have temperature sensors.

Thanks, appreciate any help before I order.

Matt

You don't want smaller (although slightly smaller might work), and why overpay for Kendrick? I would get the 6.5" and 13" Dew-Not's. The strap can fold over itself a bit, and the velcro holds it down.

I've used Dew Nots on all my scopes and they've never let me down.

Go to this webpage for Dew-Not.  It is very easy to understand what to order.  The sizes shown are for the diameter of the tube.  Don’t forget the controller.
