Hello Friends, I purchased an Evo 8 last winter and I am really enjoying it this summer.  However, the red dot finder is...not good... on many fronts.  I also have an Omni XLT 120...and the finderscope on it works really really well for me.  I like the fact that it uses no batteries, is magnified, and is focus adjustable.  Is there something similar I can get to fit on my Evo?

I have this on my Evo 925 and was previously on my CPC 800. I love it. Power when I want it, or not. Double cross hair for easily placing even fainter stars exactly where you want them. Comes with a foot to mount on any standard SCT OTA. On the plastic housing at the back of your OTA, you'll find three pairs or screws at the 10, 12 and 2 o'clock positions. Any of those will do. https://www.bhphotov...ft=BI:514&smp=y

The GSO 8x50 RACI finder fits all of those requirements. It is sold under a few brand names.

Yeah that works too. Essentially the same thing, just without the illuminated crosshairs.

Have the same one on my C-8 and C-9.25... so good that I can make out Jupiter's moons when they are far enough from the planet.  Worth the $$$!

No, the stock shoe is for a red dot finder. The illuminated RACI comes with several different shoes for various configurations, including an SCT one.

Do you remove the screws from the ota and replace the bracket?

Yep! It directly replaces the existing finder shoe.

I guess this finder scope and mounting bracket only works on celestron SCT’s?
