If your scope is slewing far enough downward to hit the legs with the starsense, you probably don’t have something configured properly in the settings location.

If you want to mount a long telescope, then need to add a 12" to 16" pier extension on top of your tripod.

Other option is to set limits on the Hand Controller for slewing. But I have seen only RA Limits and not DEC limits.
