Spent plenty of (volunteer) time fixing multiple woes for a donated 114GT reflector to my society.  I'll forgo the gruesome details.

All looking good.  But the clock drive emulation of this alt-az emits a constant rather irritating buzz from both axis.  I think the tension bolts are not too tight.

The RA drive emulation seems to work, but can I remove the buzzing, or do they all make this noise by default?  Is it worth my while to do a lengthy tear-down just to inject some grease into the 2 gears?

Thanks to all you pros for a look.

Your description seems to be of the normal sound of the drives in the original NexStar GT mount.  Grease will not change it.
