That’s all I have to say about this. Perhaps someone else can give you better advice. Good luck.
I see, ok, thank you very much

Yes the thread is about Astro-Tech scopes. Who ordered what, when, delivered and mounted. It's not a comparison between Takahashi scopes and Astro-Tech. Maybe you could start a new thread with your questions and have a big debate with Tak people. I must say my hats off to the moderators who have let this thread wonder a little here and there but a Tak debate? Please...

I reserved an AT72ED2 in September, hope I get one in this shipment!!
I just have to...it's in my signature line!!!

That's funny John . When I ordered my scope, they were able to tell me they had one left and I would get it. I would say Mike B. knows how many are coming and how many are spoken for. You should just call and ask. I looked back at the email he sent out on the 8th and it said there were limited quantities of that scope still available. If you ordered in September my guess is you get one.

Thanks Mike, will call them tomorrow!
Mike, are you east of Ft. Myers?

Can you please stop this way of attitude? If all are very sensitive then we will never get any answer and it will be just a war or battle of why it is here topic.
Well, i was trying comparison between AT72II only with Tak, imagine if i ask can we compare this AT72II with Meade and you say go to Meade topic, let's compare AT72II with TS optics 72 and again you say got to TS thread, or AT72 with
radian 61, so it will be like "Go away from AT72II thread, find something else", but it is about this scope anyway?!!!

I ordered mine in early October over the phone and I believe they said that about half the 72EDIIs in the shipment (they are expecting) soon were spoken for at the time I ordered. So I think we are good to go.

Yes John I am just east of Fort Myers enough to have a little darker skies. Bortle 5 I believe with a glow to the west from Fort Myers. It's been cloudy for nearly two months because of the steady stream of disturbances in the Caribbean and Gulf. But last night I got to enjoy my new AT130EDT under very clear and steady skies. Mars was spectacular! Once again my thanks to Mike B. for a job well done .

I just got today's Astronomics email in which they indicate the shipment of AT scopes arrived in port on October 7. It says they should be contacting those of us in the next few days who have put in an pre-order to confirm we still want our scopes. Well I know the answer to that question for me.

Good for you Errol! Your enthusiasm is contagious. I keep hanging around this thread and I'm going to end up buying another scope.

Got my email today too.
I'm thinking a camo paint job, or flames!

Thanks. Yeah, it is several years since I got a brand new scope, so I am looking forward to the 72EDII. Of course, I may have to thin the herd a little afterwards, but I haven't made any decisions on that front.

So, what's the low-down on the at102ed? There's no mention of it in the latest Astronomics email, seems everything but.
Posted 13 October 2020 - 07:17 PM
What is not on the shipment. AT102EDL, AT92, AT125EDL.
Edit. Sorry. I guess the ED and EDL are not the same thing.

About this time last month I emailed Astronomics asking when the AT102ED is scheduled to be available. As I recall the answer was December.
But everything seems to be slipping, so I guess we shouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t become available until January or so.
Had it been in stock at the time, I’d own one now; nice scope at a reasonable price.
Bruce.

OMG!!! I just logged into my account at Astronomics and saw that I had ordered an AT72ED2 on 9/16, but...the status was listed as "CANCELLED".
Wow, not sure what happened there???

Last I saw, they have some of those unspoken-for/available now (in country, on their was to Astronomics) - if you still want one...
I’m tempted.

The weekly Astronomics email is very useful if you are anxiously following this thread.

Just heard today via email that Astronomics expects my pre-ordered scope to arrive there in a couple of weeks, so I got on the phone and gave my credit card number. From the sound of things, it seems the 72EDIIs are going pretty quickly... something to think about for anyone who is about to pull the trigger on one. Just saying.
