There is no doubt these are uncertain times, all of our normal expectations when it comes to time and some day to day activities are not what they were this time last year. Last year, when we ordered something, we received a expected delivery time and it arrived usually when it we expected it to. Well, that certainly isn't the case now is it?
We are doing a room remodel at home and my wife is acting as the general contractor (she's extremely capable) but she is going nuts trying to track deliveries because they are so many delays, changes and whatnot. For example, we were expecting a delivery yesterday and were tracking the order, then all of a sudden the delivery the delivery changed to Saturday. Well that normally isn't a big deal unless you are scheduling the electrician, the painter, and the dry wall guy to all come between today and Saturday. You can just imagine how frustrated my wife was.
I'm a Astronomics customer too and know they are doing their best and even in the best of times, they have little control when AT scopes will arrive because they are so dependent on the manufacturer, the shipping company, ship schedules, customs, and trucking companies. Their supply chain isn’t horribly complex but for a small company it’s plenty complex. So the last several posts about "it will come when it will come" are 100% spot on.
For those that are anxious to try their new toy, I know it's tough to wait (especially if you are younger and used to getting everything right NOW) but I'm sure you are realizing this is the new normal, well at least for now it is.
Maybe the one thing we learn through all this is to be patient and trying to relinquish some of the control we have become used to.
