Shoot... read most of this thread but missed the post Bruce referenced. So no 102EDs in this batch, oh well, waiting is part of the fun anyway so more fun it looks like

Interestingly the only scope in the shipment that is currently listed as "In Stock" at Astronomics is the AT80ED. Not sure if that means everything else in the current shipment has been spoken for with pre-orders.

ETA today.

ETA for AT130EDT tomorrow!
Since there has been some discussion about FedEx texts' possible authenticity above; this is what I received:
I did not receive an email from Astronomics (yet?) but a text notification from FedEx. The link in it did not work but there was a tracking# in there that I could use to track online and finally got the shipment info from Oklahoma and ETA.

Well, I got a tracking number last week that said my AT60ED would be delivered today, but so far no scope. I suspect it has not left Astronomics yet, as the FedEx notification said 'Label Created', and it stills says the same thing today. So, the wait goes on. Too bad, as I've had a stretch of several above average nights. Didn't let them go to waste, but had to change the target list from what I was hoping for.

Feel your pain.. scientifically the waiting anxiety is inversly proportional to the remaining days until ETA, right?!

ETA today.
Tracking is still showing "by end of the day". So I wonder if they are really going to deliver it on Sunday evening?
The last part of the wait is definitely the worst.

Mine would be tomorrow. I had to call Friday to have it delayed because I will be out of town for a few days. I was glad they were still there.
Then Saturday FedEx said by the end of day, so I did not leave the house. Then I checked again after dinner and it changed to "delivery pending". So maybe on the 13th or later.
No big deal at all. If I had not just retired a few weeks ago I would not be going out of town.
Enjoy the new scopes to all that are getting them.

I have been searching for something to take on trips in the travel trailer and also complement my 12" dob. I decided on the AT102 but, unfortunately, there is no telling when they will be available. I did some more researching and decided the AT80ED should do just fine. I ordered it today, along with the suggested Astro Tech 2" diagonal and the Astro Tech Voyager 2 Alt/Az. I have a Rigel Quickfinder for it too. Do I need anything else to attach it to the mount/tripod?
It will be my first refractor and I'm excited. The dob is a great all-around scope, giving spectacular views of DSOs and some fantastic low power FOV. I want to expand on the low power FOV and have hopes that the 80 will do it.

My AT72EDII arrived just a couple of hours ago!
It's supposed to be partly cloudy tonight, so maybe I'll be able to get first light... we shall see.

Got that email too, but patiently waiting the shipping confirmation... It will be worth the wait!

My AT72EDII arrived today. Quite a surprise since I didn't get any notice it had shipped. Daylight views were excellent. It's first target will be Mars later tonight

Dumb question - it’s my 2nd refractor, but my first “real” one - is there a manual in the box that I am missing or one I can download?

Congratulations to the addition to the family, and Clear Skies tonight!
I got a notice from Fedex just now that they have pushed out my delivery from today to tomorrow.

There is a two page "manual" that provides specs and a description on how to operate the various items like the camera adjuster. It is more detailed than what is on the Astronomics site, at least the product description page.
This scope is really nice. Very high quality construction - paint is perfect, the mechanical "fit & finish" top notch and the optics appear to be excellent (subject to further testing tonight of course). Quality is up there my with my stellarvue 102 access, maybe even a tad bit better. I really like the scope a lot.
