Details at link

NGC 7000 The North American Nebula is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus.
It was discovered by William Herschel in 1786 from Slough England.
It is made of interstellar cloud of ionized hydrogen. Between the Earth and the nebula complex lies a band of interstellar dust that absorbs the light of the stars and nebulae behind it, and is thereby responsible for the shape as we see it.
The distance to the nebula complex is not precisely known , nor is the star responsible for ionizing the hydrogen so that it emits light. If the star inducing the ionization is Deneb, as some sources say, the nebula complex would be about 1800 light years distant, and its absolute size would be about 100 light years. Nice work on this Mike! I like the framing and processing as it gives a slightly different take without looking too foreign.

Wow, Mike. Just...wow. I love this image. Terrific color balancing choices, sharp as a tack, detail you could get lost in, low noise...just wow. Beautiful!

You did a really nice job processing that Mike!waytogo.gif

I'm going to do a little experimenting with an OSC I picked up and was considering the filter you used. I may give one a try after seeing your results.

Thanks so much Keith! I would definitely suggest this filter. For the price it is really worth it.

Thanks Steve! It is quite exciting! I just added some data to get more natural looking stars. Did it work? Maybe a little. Lol!

Looking forward to seeing your awesome images!
