The seeing was forecast to be excellent tonight. It didn't quite live up to that, but it was still pretty good.

Here are two images that I think came out well.

Visually things did look great! When imaging I did notice things get wobbly so it was not perfectly steady. It was beginning to get noticeably worse just after 1:00 AM.

Thanks again everybody!

Absolutely super performance for a 3.5 inch, perfect optics and at that aperture it suffers less from atmospheric disturbances.

Great captures!!! Terry, I think your "Jupiter is spot on".  Try backing off a little on the wavelengths when doing your Saturn. I think these images are your best-this year!bow.gif

Thanks Todd!! I wasn't sure if I over did it on Jupiter, so I appreciate the compliment!

Saturn looks a little grainy. I was trying to get the bands to show up more.

No imaging tonight (at least I don't believe so). The rain is coming down in sheets right now!

Thanks, I appreciate that! The Questar seems to come through in the pinch most of the time!

Simply beautiful!

Thank you Terra! I know people must be getting tired of me posting the same old thing. But hey, it's planet season and things are looking pretty good this year, even if they are low in the sky!

Don't you dare stop Terry!  They are by far the best images I have seen taken through a 3.5" 'scope and I look forward to seeing the details you manage to capture - especially when I have been out with a bigger telescope and failed to see the same amount of detail visually!  There are not many nights a year when my 5" apo will perform to its limits due to state of the atmosphere.

Thank you Ian, I sincerely appreciate the kind words! I'm convinced the Questar can produce better images as the camera technology improves. It's amazing how far things have come. I'm keeping my eyes open for the next wave of planetary cameras. It just gets better and better! Thanks again!

Thanks Ross! The weather is clear and the seeing is supposed to be above average tonight. I'm excited about that, so I'll be out there again. Now I just have to decide which scopes to use this time. V/R Terry
