Does the load (even though balanced) change PEC accuracy?

 

I PEC train my EQ6R with a 8" SCT and high power. Tracking is greatly improved.

Then I remove the scope and re-balance my DSLR.

You can of course just enable PEC and measure the remaining PE with and without the DSLR in place and see if there is a difference.

 

On my previous G11 and HD-150 mounts I definitely saw a difference in measured PE based on what was mounted and how it was balanced (e.g East heavy or not...)
