Fantastic work Ross and Paul!

Ross, your images have come on in leaps and bounds this year! The moons of Mars no less (I think - I struggled to read the caption)!  I look forward to seeing your photo almanac for this year. I have been getting special offers to produce calendars that I can inflict on the young uns. Might just do that.

Mark

Thanks Mark and Paul and everyone else for the likes!  Mark I have an enlarged version of the Martian Moon inkblot.  The lower one I am not very confident about and I have not check moon positions yet.  I should note here  the time of 1.42am local time is Eastern Daylight Saving Time not Standard time.

I tried the calendar line last year with my Astro photos.  It works well if you lace it with some family photos .....or at least it did for my mother!  I am sure Mark, you could also service the astro community at large along with KiwiRays coffee table Martian globes and Darryl's commemorative Martian dish set with additional clouds.  Possibly (though it might need a 24 month calendar) we could get frequent posters to submit a calendar page.    Um.....proceeds to go to the rebooting of Calsky, as long as the new version covers Martian moon psitions?

Very good Mars images, Ross and Paul, some of the clearest yet from both of you.

My first Mars image with a C8 (used), TV 2x barlow and ZWO 290 MC. Very happy with the result!

And here is a previous Mars that I reprocessed which I think turned out a bit better (man, when the clouds are out all I have is to look at old data smile.gif )

Here is one from last night using the deforked Celestar 8.  Visually the planet was stunning at 250x.  With a w80A you could see you were looking at Solus Lacus area near the terminator and the NPH was prominent.

Cheers

Probably the last pictures of the season, with jupiter and saturn shot at dusk with the usual poor seing and sadly very low in the sky (ADC strongly needed for next year). Mars is getting smaller but still shows some details.

That’s a pretty nice Jupiter. Funny enough, your pale colours may well be fairly close to reality - as discussed in the ‘Color Calibration’ thread!
