A few days ago I took photos of comet NEOWISE and when I go in DSS to stack them with Comet mode set, it either says only one will be stacked or just places them in random places.

I stacked 10x30s in DSS (not in comet mod ) and it worked fine

With comet mode, you must let DSS know the position of the comet's nucleus in the earliest and latest subs in your stack. DSS will then calculate the position of the nucleus for all the inbetween frames. You should then get a sharply aligned comet and little streaks for stars. Stacking in regular (star aligned) mode works too, but the sharpness of the comet will depend on how much time elapsed over your stack since it is actually moving, and faster than most people think. See https://www.dpreview.../thread/4504422.
