This is the second target I've imaged with my new Redcat/ASI1600/CEM25P/ASIair setup. I was fortunate to have a few nights of clear skies and managed to accumulate 8.5 hours of narrowband data. I just got a Telegizmos 365 cover so I can leave my rig set up 24X7, and I have to say it sure is nice just pulling off the cover, hitting the power, and imaging away.

Processed in APP and Photoshop. I confess this is the best image I've ever produced. Any and all critiques/suggestions welcome!

That is a very beautiful image. I have a question about imaging the same target over 2 nights. You say "just pulling off the cover, hitting the power, and imaging away".

I can see where your already polar aligned & in focus, but I assume you would need to plate solve the target first before imaging???

I never tried imaging the same target on consecutive nights due to having to break down my rig when I'm done imaging but I would love to keep it set up.

I am also a narrowband shooter with an ASIAIR and I can say I feel the same. This things almost makes this too easy.

I guess I was being glib in my comment. What I actually do is:

  • Remove cover
  • Turn everything on
  • Confirm focus and PA (trivial to do with ASIair)
  • GOTO target (ASIair plate solves and centers)
  • Start imaging run.

I can be up and imaging in 10 minutes or less.

There's a sense of depth to this image. Well done.
