Hello World --
Been a lurker for a while.
I've been doing casual observations with a Skywatcher Mak 127 (love this telescope for portability reasons).
Finally got around to getting a hardcase for it and went with a fairly pricey Pelican Air 1615 hardcase.
It fits my equipment PERFECTLY. Tripod included! And this case is BOMBER (waterproof, sit on proof, super rugged, super slick)
While sliding in at over $300 -- I think it may be worth considering for a lot of people looking for a rugged case!
For me, I found that my telescope wasn't actually used as often as I'd have liked because transportation was always a concern or consideration.
I have never flown with this telescope for that reason and never took it on any jeep trails into the mountains.
Now that I have this case, both of those things are changing and I'll be going places with my telescope.
My scope is a Skywatcher Mak 127
You could probably fit a case (5" aperture).
I think you could totally squeeze a 6 or even 7" scope into this thing along with most accessories you'd need (handful of filters, eyepieces, tripod, etc).
All-in-all, I'm pretty stoked about it.
Thought I'd share to give you inspiration.
Stay safe folks and happy views!
What cases or transport do you use for your scope?
