I've just tried to use the EZDenoise script on an image I made from 120 stacked frames. I installed it with no problem and it opens without issue. The problem is that it only gives me the option to create masks. The Run EZDenoise button is grayed out. To this point in my processing, I have done a dynamic crop, DynamicBackgroundExtraction, BackgroundNeutralization, SCNR, SPCC. I think it is still linear, so I can't figure out what I'm  missing. Can anyone offer any advice? This is the first time I've used this script, so I might have left something out.

I've gotten a notification in PI that this suite has an update. But when I try to download, I keep getting a network error. It starts downloading, then quits with this error. Anyone have an idea why?

Is it possible to develop EZ Denoise to use CUDA/tenserflow?

ez denoise uses a native PI process called TGVDenoise under the hood. TGVDenoise would have to be re-written to support CUDA/Tensorflow and that will not happen, at least in the short term.

best thing to do is just buy NoiseXTerminator, it's not that expensive and works great. NXT is already really easy to use so there'd be no point in supporting it inside of EZ Denoise.

Using NXT along with BXT has completely erased any need for the EZ suite in my use case. I haven't opened it up in many months. and have gone through and reprocessed everything that I had used in with, to better results.

You can get pretty far.

Here are two examples I did using almost exclusively using those scripts.

The latest Pixinsight Upgrade 1.8.9-2 will not allow EZ Processing Suite to load due to "Unavailable Signature?"  Is there a workaround, or is that too much to expect from Pixinsight?

as was explained in the PI forum, all you need to do is acknowledge the warning dialog box that comes up indicating the repository is not signed, and PI will still download the scripts and install them. i have been testing 1.8.9-2 for almost two months and i have the EZ processing suite installed with no problem.

That's funny, I just tried and did as you described but no EZ-suite module will run.
They do install but do not run.
So I reinstalled 1.8.9-1 and all good again
Strange "update"

EZ is kind of abandonware, darkarchon refuses to get a signing certificate for his repo and he hasn't updated anything in forever. there were a lot of changes under the hood in -2 so it's not surprising that there are problems.

i do note that EZ soft stretch, while installed on my system, does indeed segfault when i try to run it.

no way around this, darkarchon (or someone who cares) is going to have to debug this.

Reposting darkarchon's official closure notice from Discord on 15 Aug 2023 to this, the original CN announcement thread, per his request:

Apologies, but I do not plan to update EZ Processing Suite to work with the latest PI version. As the time of writing I will shut down the repository on my server and not host it anymore.

Thanks to everyone who used it and donated to me for my work, it is very much appreciated.

I do not know what changed in this """minor""" PI update and what broke the scripts. If someone wants to fork the script repository and continue to maintain and host it themselves feel free to do so, I'd be happy to pass the development along to someone else.

Although I just noticed, the original repository for the script suite also got deleted. Oh well, someone will have to make a new one, I guess. I will attach the latest version I have present to this post for people to download.

I am currently busy with real life and other projects on the side and not really actively doing astrophotography at the moment. The lack of time and interest caused me to cease any maintenance on the script suite. It had already for the past year, but now with the PI update breaking the scripts that was pretty much the last straw.

If someone can pass this post on to the PI and CN forums (take a screenshot or so and plaster it into the thread), it would be greatly appreciated.
