Is this OAG prism cracked?

I just received this Celestron OAG. It has assymetric black markings on the prism on one side, but not the other - which is concerning.

 

I have no idea whether this is normal or not (first OAG), so just checking:

It is slightly chipped, but not enough to matter. Align well and Image On!

It's brand new though. I wouldn't want to keep it if it's not in good condition. A chip can develop into a larger crack later on.

Then send it back. Inspect the new one that will probably have minor chips as this one does. And you'll only be out a couple weeks of imaging. No biggie...Full Moon right now anyway smile.png

Those may be glue contacting the glass. Hard to tell from pictures.

I have the same thing present on mine. Doesn’t seem to affect the image quality.
