Hi from Italy, on the italian website partner of binomania.it, astrotest.it, we have published (english version) a great article of Giuliano Tallone regarding the Zeiss Telescopes Serial.

https://www.astrotes...escope-serials/

I hope it's of your interest. If you want to use google translate, you will also find other articles and reviews. I am loading them slowly.

 Nice article.

I have a 2" ZEISS prism diagonal.

I've compared it to at least 3 mirror diagonals, the ZEISS was MUCH THE BEST each time.

As long as I have Telescopes, I will never part with it !

Nice article, but it has many translation errors and typos. The author should have had someone fluent in German to proofread it.

There are quite a few lenses that were made by Zeiss but not sold, or used in observatories, that have no serials written on. All rule has exception... But I suppose that many of these are listed in registrers as well.

And in addition to those, there are all the C50/540 and C63/840 objectives from Telementors/Telemators and ATM kits that have no serialnumber.

About 50/540 I know some E 50/540 with serial number engraved on cell. But yes, the majority of 50/540 and all the Telementor lenses are without any serial number. Right.
