Awaiting the arrival of my solarmaxiii 70mm double stacked 9.2lbs. Have the skywatche solarquest capacity 11 lbs

anyone using this setup. Its close to the load capacity. Any other advice of a good mount for this scope.

The Solarquest is similar to the AZ GTI, which I have.

 

With a Televue NP101 (about 13 pounds) the mount performs OK, but vibrations take a few seconds to dampen.  But if I put the head on a heavy wooden tripod, it works quite well.  And the setup is less top-heavy.

 

So I think you will be OK, and if you are not satisfied, you could get a heavier tripod.
