I am looking forward to meeting Rolo in this forum in the near future and  I wish him a very speedy recovery and more frequent observing sessions with his excellent collection of classics.

Thank you, Rolo,

for sticking this out, for fighting through, persevering. You've set a very fine standard for the rest of us - one that brightens my day immeasurably.

You look good - battle-worn & bada$$ waytogo.gif

You’re right, Astro-kerr. I think Ranger School, BUDS, SEAL training, etc, all last a short time, as opposed to the length of time Rolo has fought. Not to take ANYTHING away from the Warriors that have been there. They have my undying respect, admiration, and gratitude. But, you nailed it… “Bada$$” INDEED.

And, I know there are several others on here that are fighting cancer, etc. Kudos to and prayers for them as well. Hang in there all!

For my part, I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.....

Van Gogh.

Clear and steady skies....

For what it's worth, Rolo did post one ad on Astromart today (28th) and two yesterday.  I sent him a private message.

Hello my friends!

I've been dealing with two viruses one of which (BK) can damage and eventually destroy the transplanted organ if not controlled. Maximum level is 1069 copies and mine went up to 8.8 million copies so i was concerned to say the least! Bad sores in my mouth and a hole in my throat by my tonsil. Things are a lot better now so I've been placing ads for stuff that I'll never use.

As far as the AP 180 I may not have choice but to let it go but i will hold that one till the very endsmile.gif

I did fix an Orion 102mm f/7 ED. It was had a damaged focuser and missing on of the objective rings. I made one from a plastic container and its good to go.

BTW on Aug 20th it was my 1 year transplant anniversary! Thanks to my donor I can write this post!waytogo.gif

Glad to see the junk is coming back to trunk, bro! But then again, I knew it would...

One thing that I've learned, which is true of many of us even though we may not be aware of is that physically, emotionally and mentally we are stronger than we think!  If I could just express what my mind has been through this past year it would be like building a thousand piece puzzle of a solid color.

Very glad to see that you are doing so well Rolo. There is no word of praise good enough for your donor. All of them apply. Nice work on that Orion 102 f/7 ED.

Thanks Guido, I remember when I lived in Toa Baja that I could see Omega Centauri from the back yard the planets higher and better than ever.

Great to know that you lived in Toa Baja! I don't think that Omega Centauri would be visible from there today but it's definitely a darker sky than what we have here in the Cupey area of San Juan.

That was back in 1997. Omega was an amazing site and the best planetary viewing skies ever.
