I'm also using 100 gain for everything with the default 50 offset.   But I've only just begun playing with it so not sure yet if that is optimal.

Personally I want maximum dynamic range without super short exposures (those files are big!).  So I use gain 0 for LRGB and gain 100 for narrowband.  Gain 0 gives me maximum dynamic range at around 3.5e- read noise which is easily swamped.  Gain 100 is the magic number where the read noise drops to 1.2e- which is nice for narrowband.
