Dear "Unitron-ers"

I have this Unitron Super focuser (unbranded - likely missing stickers, so likely late production). But I seem to be missing either the point or some part(s). I got it because I "need" to do astrophotography with a dslr which seemed too heavy for the standard focuser on my Polarex model 131 telescope. I have the correct adaptor for fitting this, much larger focuser, to the OTA (although it won't fit the original box).

However I seem to miss what goes in the eyepiece end of the smallest tube. And also some sort of clamping collar to the drawtube (the big one has a lock but not the small one). What am I missing?

Also, what would I do in order to fit 2" stuff to this focuser?

Hope somebody knows something of relevance or has ideas!

Michael

Try the Astronomy Shoppe in NH; just two weeks ago,  I  purchased a 1.25" adapter for a Unitron from there. The adapter is very nicely machined. Anthony is the owner and he is very knowledgeable about Unitron telescopes.

Hi Jim

Thanks! That looks like it would solve the 2" eyepiece problem!

I have the 2” adapter from them. Works great.

If it's the same threads as on a Unitron 114, once you remove it's ring a 1.25" visual back from a SCT will thread right on. Thought I'd mention it since a lot of people have several telescopes.

Thanks Kurt! nice to know this works!

And a good tip with the visual back Mercury-Atlas!

Anyone knows if I am missing a locking collar to lock the small drawtube? Or was something else supposed to be there?

Micchael
