I have a StarAdventurer that I love, but I need a larger mount for my ED80, but I can’t find any in stock. Does anyone know where I can find a good tracking mount for medium sized OTAs?

HEQ5 EQ6 I'm not too particular, I just want a good mount, preferably less than 1,200 but with supply the way it is, they are hard to find. Tracking is very important**

When I look at their website, all those mounts say expected ship dates of September

Maybe Rocket got the last one in stock?  Anyway, there's another thread discussing the unavailability of hobby (in particular astro) products - COVID, recession, high demand, lack of manufacturing?

From personal experience, I think Orion runs lean / JIT - the few items I've ordered have always been delayed.

Well apparently I already purchased an EQ6-R PRO from ScientificAmerica, and it already shipped!

These mounts are all made in China. China keeps shutting down factories because of Covid.

Also Astronomy and Astrophotography has been very popular since this all started and the comet made things even busier.  On top of all of that there have been some sales lately.

So... we wait.

Hi to all people buying STUFF in this strange times of "stay at home" . Is this normal that any one has NO stock of mounts?

When they say "backordered" or "more in the way"... is now the only option to buy this stuff now? What is your experience with out of stock mounts? Perhaps it is normal, and I think is strange

I am looking for a mount priced around 700USD to 1000USD... and seem PRETTY impossible to find any MOUNT in stock

My first choice is the iOPTROn CEM25P. BUT SEEMs out of stock everywhere....

The second option is the Skywatcher EQM-35?

I have found that there are not any stock of these two mounts, but for any other mount too. The only mount in stock I found is the Orion Sirius EQ-G at 1099USD

If you see any place with those mounts in stock, it will help me!

Thanks

I have to dig around and find things that are in stock, otherwise it’s just a waiting game.

Supply levels are normally better. This has not been an easy year to import Chinese-made stuff.
