Hi, I am sure this has been written somewhere.

Are there any good articles where there are comparisons and contrasting of the different types of observation equipment for different applications and situations?

I have seen comparisons of the different type under each of these types, but can't seem to find any between types.

Thanks for any tips

The Celestron C90 is sold as a spotting scope but it is actually a very good and inexpensive telescope. I'm talking about the Maksutov–Cassegrain version (or "Mak" for short). This is a similar design and size to the famous 3.5" Questar telescope. This same size is also offered by several other distributors (probably all from the same Chinese source).
