I'm still looking at refractors for my first refractor, I have been thinking of getting the Orion 120 f/5 but I thought if I was to step up to alittle better quality in glass I seen this Astro-Tech 102ED for $600. What do you guys think of this scope would this be a good first refractor? A better or other option you suggest thats comparable?
The Astrotech AT102ED scope is one of the best refractors in its price class. It exceeded all my expectations for a scope that only cost $599,00 you can easily spend more for a scope and not do any better than the AT102ED. From the quality of the manufacturing to it's beautifull views. The AT102ED is not just a great first refractor it is a great lifetime scope.
It has been quite awhile now that I have set up for a viewing session without the AT102ED,
It has been a near perfect complement to any other scope I pair it with.
HAPPY SKIES TO YOU AND KEEP LOOKING UP Jethro
