After just seeing the case and legs I was going to say a SYW 60/800mm CA-60. Possibly branded as a Carton or YOSCO.

Yes, you got it.  It's a Carton 60/800.  Looks in great shape - no scratches on the tube.  One of the focuser knobs is slightly bent I think - it doesn't trace a circle but more like a top.  Very small amount though.

The build was surprising for me.  Completely different than my ~80s 60 mm which I think is a Towa.

CAUTION: Do not remove the "bottom layer" of Styrofoam. There resides the ultra-secret compartment containing what Pandora found when she got just a wee bit too curious.  Tom

Maybe I wasn't so far off with my "Polaroscope" guess. The cover on the bottom of the focusser on my 60/910 is stamped "C.O.C.". Maybe Carton made it and branded it "Polaroscope" for Eaton's?

Testing the play in the Alt axis.  I had to really tighten the axis and now it's a bit stiff to move, but it stays in place without the focuser drifting to the legs.  I lubed the gears a bit too

Big focuser tube.  I can confirm the Vixen 1.25 visual back fits   I don't think focus will work with a 1.25 diagonal and eyepiece though.  It does come to focus with about 1 cm to spare using the .965 prism diagonal, a .965 to 1.25 dumb adapter, and 1.25 eyepiece (20mm MA).

Included prism diagonal and upright image prism.  I'm curious to see how the latter works.  I guess it's just half of a bino prism set or something like that.  All metal.

Pandora?  Hope? The key to unlock it? Doorway to another dimension? A hand-written not that says, "Do not open this box". Gray's sports Almanack?

A piece of paper with "the answer to Life, the Universe and everything?", the actuall one. Blueprints and instructions on how to build the box.

The recipe to "Coke" and "KFC chicken".

It's a magic box, so anything that you can imagine.

Clear skies.
