Here is a defaulted StarTools workflow rendering of IC 1848 (Soul Nebula) and saturation touchup in Gimp.    The gradient wipe module is worth the price of admission all by itself.

Good work! cool.gif

I agree, the gradient tool is fantastic in Startools, so is the tracking feature I'd think, and I love the psycho-analytic noise removal tool.

For reference, here is the uncropped stack, stretched manually with strong gradient at the bottom.   StarTools wiped most of the gradient away, sharpened, and denoised the image easy peasy.

Congratulations for such a beautiful image! I, too, am also a big fan of StarTools.

Speaking of Startools, I captured the soul nebula last November and posted the stack here on CN.  To my surprise and delight--Ivo Jager (ST developer) did what he called a "quick processing" with the beta version of ST.  I was very impressed.
