I will probably aquire the Mach2 a couple of years from now. Signed the list first in May.

So, may be I just order the ME+ in stead. Not a bad alternative???

I had the Paramount ME in the late oughts. Several of my fellow astronomer group members had AP mounts. There were some things the AP mounts did, such as tracking beyond the Meridian that the Paramount didn't do as well.

I found the Bisque software package to be superior to the AP offering.

If I had to do it again and my choices were limited to the Paramount or AP, I would choose the Paramount. But there are other choices out there that compete very nicely in the MX+/ME II/Mach2 market. I would look at the Planewave L-350/500 or the 10Micron mounts.

If I had the funds today, I think I would go with the Planewave L-350/500. BUT, you get to spend your Krone - not me!

10Micron might be an alternative, Planewave to expensive.

But I had hoped for some pro&con regarding Mach2 and MX+.
