I have "the beast", an older fork arm Meade 10" from the 90's I think.  It works pretty darn good especially after I digitally polar align it with SharpCap.  The RA drive uses a plastic gear.  Can I upgrade it to brass?  If yes, how do I get one made?

Thanks,

Dark Skies

I used McMaster-Carr to replace a missing gear on my 10" LX50 when I got it.  I  got a nylon/plastic gear, which works fine, to save on the cost. Make sure you understand the gear specs when you order. I botched the first order by a few tenths of a mm, and had to re order a new one.
