That's a fine lookin setup waytogo.gif  How does the geared column attach to the mount head? Do they make different mount bases for the column?

I have a Berlebach Planet and like it, but unlike the OP in post #2,

I don't place it on a Flag, because I am not so disrespectful.

It's a blanket, not a flag.

The Report is a wonderful little tripod and good for travel, but despite its 40# capacity rating I wouldn't put more than 15 or 20 pounds on it.  It does dampen nicely.  The Uni 28 is steady and also dampens well, but is a bit heavy since it goes past 5'.  That sounds like faint praise but I don't mean it to be so.  I actually really like them. I have just wondered if there might be another wood species with the strength and stability of the ash but a little lighter.  I've had vintage wooden tripods that seemed lighter for their capacity.
