To those of you who have roll offs, pods, or open permanent piers:  Do you shorten the cord to the dew controller, which is typically eight to ten feet long, and put custom connectors on, or do you continue to use the cig lighter plug on the long cord?  Shorter cords are certainly neater.

I see about a 1/10 volt advantage (gain) in shortening the cord on my install, which isn't significant.  The only disadvantages I see are the trouble to do it, and much diminished resale value.

I buy a lot of scopes, and things to use with the scopes. Maybe it's just me, but I buy it because I want/need it - and I don't worry about the resale. If I need to modify it to work, then I do it.
