Just bought a zwo asi183mc pro. I couldn't get a clear image both in light polluted and not so polluted areas.
I'm using it with a skywatcher startravel 102T with 500mm focal length. Mounted on a skywatcher az gti in equatorial mode. Powered by 150w battery inverter. And using an ASiair pro to control everything.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Assume that you cannot wind the focuser inward sufficently??

In a way makes sense - the 102 Startravel is basically a visual scope and not intended for having a camera attached so there is insuffucent focuser travel provided.

If it were outward travel the solution is add an extension, insufficent inward just cannot be sorted. You cannot remove (sensibly) length of the OTA.

Not all scopes are suited for AP.

I would try using the camera during the day with a far object, and try using an extension to see if it gets closer to focus. Usually is not the camera, but the scope.

Roughly measure 500mm from the 102's objective, that's where the ZWO sensor needs to be.

You'll probably need a spacer, measure with the 102's focuser halfway out.

The sensor is 6.5mm in from the front plate of the ZWO.

Thanks everyone for your replies, I didn't use extensions provided with the camera. I'll give them a try.
