Hello,

I have ordered a Vixen HAL 130 tripod and an adapter (no 75169, GP60 to 45AD) to make it fit an old Super Polaris. I plan to store the tripod with the adapter attached.

Vixen makes a nice scope bag (75655 Carry Bag) in which the HAL 130 supposedly fits. The max size of the tube reportedly is 850 mm by 125 mm.

Does anyone have both the bag and the tripod? If so, would you say there is 2-3 inch / 5-8 cm to spare (about the height of the adapter).

Thanks a lot in advance!

Jan

I'll measure my HAL130 tripod when I get a chance.

Thanks. I just set up the HAL-130 tripod with adapter.

The tripod is 83 cm without the adapter. Together, they measure 87 cm. The polar alignment stud is another 2 cm.

So, the HAL-130 likely fits in the Vixen bag as advertised - just - but with the adapter its seems like it's well over the bag's limit.

My scope (Takahashi FC100-DZ) with extension tubes and diagonal attached (ready for use) is 87 cm, so that too seems a tad too long.

In sum, I won't risk getting the Vixen bag.
