Called my local auto dealership service departments looking for the door trim they install to safeguard the edges of doors when opening. Was informed they do not carry this.

I am looking for something to put on the front and bottom ends of an OTA to protect the aluminum.

Any ideas?

Might check out Auto Zone, Pep Boys and similar stores.  They typically carry that stuff in either chrome or a rubber version.

You can find it at most auto parts stores.

Dealerships do not install this trim. As others noted above it is an aftermarket item.

BTW...it works great. I use it on my 8" aluminum tube scope.

Or try a chandlery/boating store. I got some rubber edging that was reinforced with imbedded metal  to Clamp down / keep it secure over fibreglass hull joints. Works great to protect tube endings.

AutoZone for ten dollars. Looks very nice and this black door trim provides excellent protection.

thanks to all for your contributions.
