Can folks post links to the files needed to 3D print the suggestions?

I, like others, have no desire to 'reinvent the wheel' to make our own copy of these great ideas.

Also, I must assume the designers made refonememts or changes to less-than-ideal designs, experience that need not be re-experienced.

Once I get my 3D printer I will do the same.

Incidentally, any suggestions for where to keep astro designs posted?

I was looking for a EP tray/storage etc and found NOTHING online.

There are some bags for EP that cost like 150 quid, i simply wanted a tray that i can keep on a table and have my EPs all stored aside each other. Apparently there is a gap in the market!

The only EP trays online are those put under a tripod, which i have and which use is quite different to the one i intended (storage whilst scope is not used).

SO, I went on thingiverse website and typed eyepiece tray and found a few.

Had to modify the file as the holes on first print where 1mm bigger than i liked, and the EPs where wobbly.

So i shrunk 1% on xyz axis and got it perfect. Now the EPs have friction when slotting them in, but not as much that once you take them out you have to fight the whole tray.

One issue is this one i printed is meant for skinny plossl, so bigger EPs such as BHZ can't sit near other bigger ones.

Im planning to glue 2 together (those on pics) so that i can have an empty hole in between 2 EPs so the have all the space they need.

I also fitted rubber feet, savaged from thise used in computers fans. This way the tray doesn't slip and sits securely on smooth table surfaces.

The actual file i used is here. I forgot i had also to cut out a piece of it, as the whole tray was way bugger than my printers tray, which is limited to about 20cm per side.

Of note i also printed the orange EP caps. More visible at night and inside the bags. Plus they match Celesteon flagship colours.

I also made those that are used inside diagonals and on the EP ends of scopes.

Again i modified their size 1% to make that tight fit i like.

I'm still playing with my design but I plan to upload them to Thingiverse when I get them finalized. PM me if you want the STL files now if you want to play around with it.

There's been a few topics scattered around the forums discussing 3D printed stuff and the links associated with them.

Here's a shorter topic with the stuff I've designed.

There's also an ongoing thread discussing 3D parts in astronomy here.

Im indeed a bit confused about all the forums subsections, i totally get beginner/advanced stuff as well as some pretty specific subsections like classic scopes, EAA, but when it comes to general stuff there are at least 3 different forums that sort of fill the criteria.

Thanks for the pointers, heading there now to see if i can print something interesting!

I've asked for a dedicated thread on this for a long time. Maybe this one will stick. As long as we keep adding to it, it just might.

Here's some of mine. STLs from Thingiverse.

Lense cap for ST80. This is a customizable print so you can make them any size. Sorry, can't find the file. Just do a search for Astronomy and you should be able to find it.

Level for AVX mount.

Tripod leg holder.

Star knob for tripod center bolt

This is just a sample of the stuff I've printed. There are tons of them on Thingiverse. Search for Astronomy, or your specific mount or scope and you should find enough stuff to keep you busy for years!

Found this Gemini 2 holder on Thingiverse and printed it in flashy gold filament because I was too lazy to switch it out with matching black...a search on the keyword “Losmandy” will return a lot of neat stuff.
