Does anyone have a first hand experience with both mounts that could chime in? If I get buy the CEM60 for $1800, and CEM70 (non "G") for $2500, is the extra $700 worth it?

If you can get a CEM60 for $1800, that is a great deal. Is it EC or Non-EC?

I have a CEM60.  I considered whether the upgrade was "worth it" to me.  I decided it wasn't because I'm pretty satisfied now, and the CEM70 is 3 pounds heavier.  Old man here.  <smile>

BUT....  If the CEM60 is used, and the 70 new, I'd spend the extra, and it wouldn't be a close call.  People abuse mounts.

In either case, I don't think the EC is worth it.

I'd take the 60 and use the extra money on something else like a pier unless my system was really close to the capacity rating of the 60. Then I'd want the greater capacity. I'd stay away from the EC versions of any iOptron mounts because some present sufficient sub division error to ruin your imaging.

(P.S. The name's Dynan. Skylab is a ranking. Common mistake =)
