My 16x16 foot roll off is now over 12 years old, and I can still push the 1,400 pound roof off by hand. The "secret" is I used steel for the rails, with inverted V steel on top. My rails are galvanized 4"x4" angle, 3/8 inch thick. The posts at the end are about 5x5x 1/4" angle. They formerly held up a massive feed bin for a poultry house.
