After asking 10Micron for a little more time on the price increase, they have agreed to extend the current prices until Thursday October 22, 2020.  But from the current production runs are going fast so now is the time to order.  The most popular mounts are the GM1000HPS and GM2000HPS Combi.  GM1000HPS mounts will be available in the next few weeks while GM2000HPS Combi mounts will be available toward the end of November.  The sooner you order, the sooner you will get your mount from the production runs.  If you want the best absolute encoder equatorial or Alt/Az mounts available without an unknown wait period, order now so that you have your mount for galaxy season.

Don't forget that 10Micron mounts include, among other things, the following standard, unique, and cutting edge features that have been incorporated in the 10Micron HPS mounts from the start:

  • High-resolution absolute encoders on both axes,
  • A fully functional heated hand controller and an identical virtual hand controller,
  • Zero backlash hybrid belt and worm drive system,
  • Self-adjusting spring-loaded worms for temperature adaptation,
  • Smooth, stream-lined design to help avoid cable snags,
  • Internal precision balancing routine,
  • Internal modeling routine requiring a maximum of 100 points (25 points typically sufficient for unguided imaging with appropriate imaging systems) for the highest precision operation,
  • Internal memory for up to ten models (e.g., for use with different scopes or multiple-scope setups),
  • Fully automated modeling using an imaging camera (or DSLR) and available freeware and many of today’s imaging and plate solving packages,
  • Internal polar alignment routines not requiring a polar scope or a view of Polaris for fast and accurate polar alignment,
  • Automatic, real-time, internal model adjustment (no external computer required) for refraction parameters based on data collected by an available external weather sensory package or input manually,
  • Slew speeds up to 20 degrees per second (GM/AZ2000HPS mounts),
  • Whisper quiet slewing and tracking,
  • Dual-axis tracking,
  • Custom tracking rates,
  • Slip/compression clutching with four clutch knobs per axis in the GM1000HPS and GM2000HPS mounts,
  • Tilting worm system clutches in the GM3000HPS and GM4000HPS mounts,
  • Tracking up to 35 degrees past the meridian in firmware, 45 degrees in hardware,
  • 0° - 80° (90° optional) latitude range with the GM1000HSP and 20 to 75° range with the larger mounts,
  • +/- 7.5° to +/- 10° azimuth adjustment range depending on mode,
  • Precision unguided and guided performance,
  • Easy internal satellite tracking capabilities,
  • Internal mount cabling (not through-the-mount) for the GM1000HPS and GM2000HPS, internal and through-the-mount cabling for the GM3000HPS and GM4000HPS,
  • All machined aluminum, stainless steel, and bronze parts,
  • Hardest and most durable anodized finish available,
  • Industrial Linux computer control system with a single cable to a non-moving part of the mount,
  • Capability to image without any external PC,
  • Control with Windows programs as well as control through programs like Skysafari,
  • Communication through WiFi (client and hotspot), Ethernet (client or direct cross-over), and serial connections,
  • Easy, direct integration with external sensory and control packages for GPS, weather, time, and remote power up/down,
  • Wide temperature operations with a special low-temperature option down to -31°F (-35°C) available when necessary (which is rarely the case),
  • Internal and external logging routines for quick diagnosis of mount and user issues to avoid having to conduct extensive user experimentation and avoid having to ever send a mount in for evaluation,
  • Full ASCOM compatibility (10Micron custom ASCOM driver or Meade compatible protocol) allowing use with all of today’s planetarium, control, and imaging software,
  • Optional top-class tripod manufactured by 10Micron with unguided imaging in mind,
  • Fully documented, publically available command protocol,
  • Available shareware INDI driver.
  • Remote power-up abilities including wake-on-LAN,
  • Complete support and service capabilities based in the US and Canada for the western hemisphere.
