What's up with this HC behavior?

When I am doing fine-tuning to center an object with the StarSense HC, the slewing buttons are doing something strange:

 

At speed 4, I slew right until the object is centered and take my finger off the button, but the mount continues to drift in the same direction slowly until I hit the left direction button.  Then it stops.  Is this a backlash adjustment?

Alt-az or equatorial? Are you in the northern hemisphere? Have you changed the button directions from default?

 

I'm guessing "slew right" means "slew east". If yes, this is backlash.

Yes more than likely this is backlash.

you can either adjust in the settings or over slew then slew back a little to take up backlash.
