so its a 4" 100mm lens diameter. I can´t read the focal length. Either 1600mm or 1000mm. Guess it is 1600mm, but then I am not a GOTO specialist.

Marvellous. 100mm, 1500mm focal length

In telescope museum they mentioned a 102mm 1500mm goto, yours is close.

There's only like 3 of them on australia, and only one or two is 100mm. There's an ad for 102mm this year, but it's not 100mm.

Clean it and keep it, that's one killer keeper scope.

Thanks for the help everyone,

So I'm actually looking to sell this scope. Any ideas or suggestions on value or where and how I can sell it?

I hope it's ok to inquire about selling on this forum. If not, I do apologize.

The value differs on each, I've seen it under 1000AUD (800USD) for the ads. Have seen one listing in japan for 1800USD.

Beautiful instrument.

As per it's value, if I were to guess I would say something similar to a 4in EQ mounted Unitron

Worth a easy 4 to 5k. If it has all the parts and is very clean.

Really?!?!?

That would be amazing. Any idea where I can offer/post it for sale?

This scope is much more rare than a 4" Unitron and should bring a good bit more.

You can run a ad on here or Astromart. I would try to sell local and not deal with shipping.

Thank you,

I totally agree, I would not want deal with shipping. The scope is huge.

Personally I kind of doubt you can get 4-5K for it. The lens cell looks like it has corrosion and we haven't seen any photos of the mount and it's condition.

I could be wrong but I don't think you can judge it's value based on a Unitron. It may be worth more but there's a lot of people who love and collect Unitrons and rarity isn't always as much a driver of value as demand.

Depending on where you live, local pick up can really stunt a telescopes selling price. My guess, $1500 to $2000.

Maybe one of the Goto experts (like Stew44) will chime in with a realistic price.

Ironically it will worth a lot way more on japanese market. I wonder if it's just the reflections but it wasn't clear how's the condition of the lens.

Is the mount like this one with a motor in the base?

I would go around 4k for a mint scope like that if that was what i was looking for.  But at least $2500 if it is in good shape.  That is more of a collector scope i would think.  How many times do we see a scope like that for sale?

Folks, we are straying away from the OP's initial question (which has already been answered).  Please take any other aspects of this topic to PMs.  Thank you.

While we know it's a Goto model 204, there seems to be a few variations. It would be nice to see the exact mount before this thread gets locked.
