I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this topic, if not, I'm sorry admins, please move it.

Wanted to know what're the best sellers/ stores/ websites to order astronomy equipment in Melbourne & Geelong, Australia?

Does everyone order from Amazon? BINTEL showed up in most of my google searches. Are they preferred?

I'd like to know where locals go for the best budget deals, please!

Thanks in advance.

Astroungu - seems to be astrophotography mainly, Melbourne.

Thought I had more but none, there are 2 maybe 3 in Brisbane.

Think at one time I had 5 or 6 bookmarked but over Australia not just the 2 locations you ask about.

Also had to reload the browser after the first line, I managed to upset the display format.

Have you tried Optics Central in Mitcham in Melbourne?

Full disclosure - I'm their astrophotographer, so I do have an interest.

Join the Ice in space website and ask your question there.

I lived in Sydney for a while and really enjoyed Bintel

Im in NZ. Never had any issues with Bintel in Sydney.

Apart from things being out of stock on occasion and that seems to happen a lot with covid.

Melbourne:

-Optics central (Physical Store/ Online Store) : Low to mid range stuffs (except that huge lunt, have some specialized eyepieces)

-OZScopes (Physical Store/ Online store) : Low to mid range stuffs

-Siderealtrading (Online store, Pick up) : Focusing on astrophotos with few otas, owner is ASV member

-Astroungu (Online store) : Focusing on astrophotos with few otas

-Astronomy Alive (Online store, Pick up) : Ultra rare stuffs, mainly on rare classic scopes, supplies ultra high end stuffs (APM, LZOS, Zeiss, etc)

Others

-Iceinspace (Forums): Classifieds (online forum, request/sell anything)

-Bintel (Physical Store/ Online Store): Low to high end stuffs (televue suppliers, GSO suppliers, supplies their own line of accessories/ eyepieces)

-Astroanarchy (Physical Store/ Online Store): Low to mid range stuffs (usually have cheaper rates)

-Andrews communications (Online Store): Low to mid range stuffs (supplies William optics range, skywatcher wholesale)

-Sirius optics (Physical Store/ Online Store): Low to mid range stuffs (supplies their own line of accessories/ eyepieces)

These are the shops I've dealt with, except astroungu. Reports are saying it's reputable.
