With my scope and camera combo (ES 127CF and ASI6200MC) I get 0.81" per pixel. But I know my mount won't guide anywhere near that precisely - I get 1.2" RMS tops in PHD. Would 2x2 binning result in a cleaner image? Or, given the sophistication of drizzle integration and all the other stuff in post processing is it smarter to just keep the original resolution and let the algorithms do their thing?
In general, when is binning a good idea?
