I got an email today about formlabs new fiber enforced resin https://formlabs.com...HZWNW13PT0ifQ==  I have waited a long time for a resin of this quality to appear. The precision parts you can make with SLA can blow away an fdm printer, but sla prints have also always been alot weaker than fdm.

 

I remember that SLA but it was crazy expensive and had alot of issues when I first started seeing them go mainstream. Fast forward 4 years and amazon has a ton of options at different price points. The Longer Orange 30 for ex is only $219

and has an array of 2k leds for printing, it does decent enough sized prints for astro atm uses. Im curious if anyone can suggest a good sla to go with for under $1000 ?

i just want a decent build surface size and a good record of reliability.

We have an Elegoo MARS in our print farm and it produces great prints. The build volume is small but Elegoo did come out with a larger version since our initial purchase.

Those are affordable. What do you use your farm to produce? On a side note is there any particular resins you recommend that can take a beating similar or close to say a carbon fiber petg for fdm?

IFUN makes a impact resistance resin

LiqCreate Strong X is a Tough resin

Prusa Tough

Siraya Tech

 

All of the above seem to be good for "toughness".

 

 

The SLA doesnt do much work in the farm and when it does it just seems to make miniatures we get sent. The farm is made up of over 20+ FDM machines making various in house products or being use as a print service to others who need something printed for whatever reason.
